Two Nigerian boxers, Solomon Adebayo Imoleayo and Tope Musa Tajudeen have been lauded for making the nation proud at the recent continental boxing challenge bouts held in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania.
President of the West African Boxing Union, (WABU) Mr. Remi Aboderin commended the boxers for their victories in far away East Africa by exhibiting winners genes in them during the bouts.
Imoleayo, heavyweight boxing sensation Knocked out his Tanzanian opponent, Hamisi Palasungulu within two minutes in first round, to improve his record to 10 knockouts out of 10 professional fights, hereby becoming more fearsome to other boxers in the category in Africa.
Similarly, Nigeria’s Musa defeated another Tanzanian boxer, Mohamed Pesa by unanimous decision to improve his record to 14 wins, one draw and 0 loss, with 12 knockouts after the bout held inside the Super Dome Arena, Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania.
Aboderin said: “I’m happy our boys are doing greatly, Imoleayo has been wonderful since turning professional less than a year now with ten straight wins by technical knock-out (TKO); the fear of Imoleayo is the beginning of wisdom for heavyweight boxers in Africa now, I must tell you.”
He added that Musa, aka ‘TP Rock’ has also continued his dominance in the light heavyweight category with his killer form. “He is fast establishing himself as a world class fighter with impressive 12 knockout wins in his 14 fights.”
“I am sure they will soon make a mark on the global boxing scene,” said Adoderin, who also is the General Secretary of the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C).
