New talents are expected to be discovered at the Starz Enclave Boys/Girls 12 and Under Tennis Closed Tournament billed to serve-off from August 26th – 31st, 2024 in the ancient Ibadan City, Oyo State capital.
The grassroots tennis event slated for the tennis courts, Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan is being sponsored by Starz Enclave Tennis Academy owned by Williams Odunayo Usigbe Esq.
The closed tennis tournament aimed at discovering young and talented tennis players will feature players across the three senatorial districts in the state.
According to the Coordinator of the tournament, Coach Ganiyu Tirimisiyu in a chat with Newsnigeriaonline.com.ng, he noted that they are expecting not less than 62 players in both boys and girls category respectively.
Coach Tirimisiyu, who is the tennis head coach, Oyo State Sports Council affirmed that the tournament is to discover tennis talent between the age of 8 and 12 years that could become world champion in the nearest future.
Tirimisiyu who also double as head of coaching on ball games said: “This is a grassroot tennis tournament being sponsored by Starz Enclave Tennis Academy owned by Williams Odunayo Usigbe Esq.
“And at this closed tennis tournament, we are expecting over 62 players in both boys and girls category across Oyo State because it is solely meant for discovery of young talents in the state.”
