Registration of golfers for the Sapele Athletic Club (SAC) Golf Section Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament at Sapele Town, Delta State will close today.
However, Newsnigeriaonline.com.ng can exclusively reports that a total of 71 golfers have so far registered as at time of reporting while the registration window is still open till 11:59pm, but the figure is expected to rise to 100 or more before the registration deadline.
The tournament is scheduled to tee-off on Friday with club members in the morning while the captain’s cocktail holds later in the evening.
Similarly, the guests will play on Saturday while the traditional tee-off to be performed by the captain, Alexander Verhees holds on same day by 7.00am, with a great breakfast followed by lunch.
Therefore, the tournament registration which commenced last month has registered golfers from Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS); UBTH Golf Club, Edo State; Ibori Golf and Country Club (IGCC), Asaba; Ogunu Golf Resort, Warri, Delta State; Port-Harcourt Golf Club, and many others.
Meanwhile, all is now set for the organisation of the inaugural as the club is wearing new look ahead of the tournament which commence on Friday while the grand finale is on Saturday at the club house, GRA, Sapele.
Newsnigeriaonline.com.ng recalls that Sapele Athletic Club is located in Okpe Community GRA, Sapele. It is legacy bequeathed by British traders from Elder Dempster and Company Limited and those from African Timber and Plywood Company (AT&P) in 1897 before the amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914.
