Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) has extended the date for the Political Party Primaries by seven more days.
The commission had earlier set 27th of May, 2021 as deadline but later extended it to 3rd of June, 2021, in view of the agitations by political parties that the notification for the primaries was too short for them to comply with.
This was made known in a statement signed by the OGSIEC Chairman, Babtunde Osibodu on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, state capital.
The commission also informed that there would be another stakeholders’ meeting with the public towards the 2021 Local Government Elections, holding on Friday, 28th of May, 2021 at the Commission’s Headquarters, Oke-ilewo, Abeokuta, at 10:00 am prompt.
However, political parties and other invited stakeholders are expected to send only two representatives each, in compliance with Covid-19 guidelines.
