Ogun Volleyball Team Presents Medals, Awards To Sports Council

Ogun State Volleyball Team has presented medals and other awards won at the Open Regional Unity Championship to the management of Ogun State Sports Council on Monday.

The Coach Segun Abinde led team finished second overall best behind Team Ondo at the championship held in Kwara State between January 8th and 15th, 2022.

Similarly, the Gateway Team also dominated the individual awards just as Michael Abari won the Best Spiker; Precious Peter on his part emerged the Best Defender while Army Ferdinand won the Best Blocker in the country.

While receiving the team, the Director of Sports, Mrs Folakemi Iyabode Rotimi commended the team on their achievements, expressing her appreciation for the team sincerity in reporting and tendering all their rewards.

Furthermore, coach Abinde was also commended for his dedication and commitments towards the game, while his charisma among his teammates was acknowledged.

In the same vein, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr. Oludare Kehinde ably represented by Wale Shodeinde hereby encouraged the coach not to relent in his efforts of making volleyball attain higher level of global acknowledgment.

It could be recalled that Ogun, Ondo, Kwara, Lagos, Abuja and others took part at the weeklong championship.
