Ogun Community Presents Award Of Good Governance To Gov. Abiodun

As part of activities to mark the 2021 Olokine Day, Oba Abdulrasheed Banjo, the Olokine of Ojowo in Ijebu North local government area has presented Award of Excellence to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

This was in recognition of the governor strides, especially through the spread of projects to grassroot level in the area and other part of the state.

Governor Abiodun, who was represented by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, appreciated the monarch for deeming it fit to recognize government’s effort at ensuring the spread of democratic dividends to the nooks and crannies of the state.

He stated: “On behalf of the government and good people of the state, I want to thank the Kabiyesi for this award, for recognizing our effort at developing grassroot, in the area of employment, agriculture and renovation of schools.”

Moreover, during the presentation, Oba Abdulrasheed disclosed that the community decided to honour the governor for the released of 200 hectares of land for anchor borrower programme, establishment of an additional microfinance bank and renovation of four schools in the area.

Receiving the award along side the governor were the SSG, Mr. Talabi, who received the award on good governance, and Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina, who received award on excellent service in employment generation through agriculture, among others.

In his vote of thanks, Chairman, Ijebu-North Local Government, Hon. Bolaji Odunsanya congratulated the kabiyesi on the second year in office and, assuring of the council’s commitment towards the development of Ijebu-North at large.
