
The Ogun State Command of Amotekun Corps have apprehended a 51 year old Oko Rubben for unlawful possession of 0.38mm live ammunition and other items.
Oko, a resident of Akinjole Area in Ewekoro, Ewekoro Local Government Area was arrested at midnight on August 13th, 2023 at Akinjole junction, while riding on a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with registration number ABJ 425 VR, strongly believed to have been stolen.
State Deputy Commander of Amotekun Corps, Aina Oluwakayode stated this in statement made available to Newsnigeriaonline.com.ng on Thursday in Abeokuta.
In the statement, he disclosed that while carrying out normal searched on the spot, he was found to be in possession of a face mask with a sharp long kitchen knife in his pocket.
The deputy commander said: “This prompted the execution of a search warrant in his house at Akinjole, which led to the recovery of the several items treated as exhibits.
“They are 46 0.30mm live beretta pistol ammunition; one Henry West multipurpose engine; one face mask; two axes; one kitchen knife; hork saw and wood saw; one army camouflage jungle hat, and four hand gloves.
“Others are one tecno spark 9 android phone; one Zenith ATM card; one UBA ATM Card; one blue bank card; one nokia 3310 cell phone; three nokia 1661-2 cell phones; one hele 1408 android phone; one xmobile cell phone;one samsung android phone, and one ok cell phone.
“Having satisfied with the level of investigation from our end, the suspect is to be immediately transferred to the police authority for appropriate action.
“Meanwhile, members of the public, and the good people of Ogun State are advised to be very watchful of persons they accommodate in their residences, to avoid complicity, as ignorance of the law, most times is not an excuse.
“Equally, we are advised to be patient with one another in the situation confronting us as a people in this nation. We are to keep away from all forms of frustrations, depressions and move on with life, and not to allow present circumstances and predicament overtake our sense of judgement.”
