Ogun Agric Commissioner, Others On Study Tour Of Danone Dairy Facility In Egypt

Ogun State Commissioner For Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina has joined officials of Fan Milk Plc (Danone), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on a study tour of Danone Dairy and Stakeholder Facility in Cairo, Egypt.

The study tour embarked on Sunday, 22nd August 2021 will serve as a prelude to the commissioning and opening of the Dairy Facilities at Odeda Farm Institute, Ogun State which is under construction, as facilitated by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

Dr. Odedina disclosed: “We are in Egypt for study tour with Danone Company who sponsored the study tour and officials of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

“The Odeda Dairy Farm Institute of Fan Milk Plc (Danone) is due for completion and kick-off before the end of the year 2021 by God’s grace.”

Newsnigeriaonline.com.ng recalls that the French Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Jérôme Pasquier and his team paid a scheduled visit to Agricultural Investment locations in Ogun State on August 10th, 2021.

The Ambassador accompanied on the visit by management team of Fan Milk (Danone) Plc and the team from Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture, the French Embassy team visited Obasanjo Farms, Owiwi in Abeokuta North Local Government Area, where the aquaculture facilities commissioned by Prince Abiodun in December 2020, for aquaculture value chain development activities in Ogun State were inspected.

Facilities inspected at the Aquaculture Hub included the Fish Cage Culture, Fish Processing Facilities, Earthen Ponds, Smoking Units, among others.

The teams later visited Odeda farm Institute to inspect the ongoing Ogun State/Fan Milk (Danone) Plc Backward Integrated Project (Dairy Farm investment). The Project, which was facilitated and approved by Abiodun, will help to improve the dairy value chain sector in the state as well as enhance local dairy production in Nigeria.

Similarly, there was also a courtesy visit to the former President of Nigeria, His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library residence, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta.

However, present at the tour were stakeholders from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as representatives from Farmers Group.
