Murdered Ogun Monarch, Oba Odetola Burial Activities Commence Tuesday

Burial activities for the murdered Ogun Monarch, HRH Oba Olajide Ola-Ayinde Odetola, the Olu of Agodo Town in Ewekoro Local Government Area have been released.

Dates for the burial were confirmed by Agodo, Imo and Egba Chiefs at a joint media briefing held at Ake Palace over the weekend whereby the burial ceremony will commence with service of songs on Tuesday.

Present at the briefing were Odofin Imo, Chief Tunde Adesina; Balogun Imo, Chief Sikiru Amodu; Are Olotu of Itori, Chief Toyin Borbitey; Amona Baaroyin of Egbaland, Amona Tajudeen Oladeinde; Agodo and Imo Chiefs; Baales, and several other sons and daughters of Agodo Town.

In the press release signed by Chief Amodu, it further revealed that the burial rites and funeral service will hold on Wednesday while the traditional burial is fixed for Thursday. On Saturday is Fidau prayer just as thanksgiving service holds on Sunday.

The chiefs hereby enjoined everyone to troop out en masse to give the traditional ruler a rousing farewell and urged all to remain calm and peaceful before during and after the burial.

They also urged members of the public with further useful information that could aid police in their investigation to make such available to the police.

It could be recalled that Oba Odetola was brutally murdered in the town. Following the murder, a total number of I6 suspects have been arrested and arraigned in Court. They are currently been held at Oba Correctional Center, Abeokuta.
