Exactly two weeks to the tee-off of the 2021 Ladies Golfers Association of Nigeria (LGAN)/Nigerian Cup, Princess Habiibah Oyèghè Oyarekhua, LGAN PRO has composed a poetic song for the event.

The LGAN Open poem touched every slogan of all the 36 States including Federal Capital Territory, and is aimed at bringing innovation to golf event which is being hosted at Ibori Golf and Country Club (IGCC), Asaba, Delta State from November 19th – 21st, 2021.

Newsnigeriaonline.com.ng recalls that Princess Oyarekhuà, was the Immediate Past Lady Captain, Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS).

While responding on the rationale behind composition of the poem for the event, she noted that it became necessary as part of her duties as the Association’s PRO to add spice to the event, and to appreciate the lady golfers by gingering their swag!.

She remarked that there is a need to also commend the LGAN President, Susan Cole-Kotas for her efforts in navigating the association despite the Coronavirus Pandemic which took its toll on the county and other parts of the world too. “We must appreciate God for keeping everyone of us alive.”

However, the poem reads://
“Wherever you may be coming from,
be it land of beauty or promise,
if you are bringing the light of the nation,
it shall be enhanced by the pearl for glory of all lands.
The food basket shall be brought to the home of peace to enjoy paradise.
What is food without salt?
When the heart stops beating, life is gone.
Even in death, there is honor and integrity.
In the chills of the wake, Coal shall keep us warm as the jewelries fade.
From the savanna to the heartland and the new world,
Centers of learning have been converted.
Centers of commerce are in the name of hospitality.
Where then is equity at the confluence?
The Harmonica is devoid of notes.
Excellence? Gone with the wind! The minerals and power have become worthless.
The people are searching for a gateway.
Hoping for sunshine.
But who will set the pace when virtue has been replaced?
The allure of peace and tourism are no longer treasured.
The handsome caliph annexed nature’s gifts,
From both the sahel and the proud farmers.
All hope is not lost as the Finger of God is touching Lady Golfers under the LGAN Umbrella.
LGAN Open Nigeria Cup 2021 is here!
Why look outside when we are blessed inwardly?
We say welcome to LGAN. Welcome to the Finger of God State!
Come!
Have Fun!
Dance!
Play Golf!
And be touched.”
