The Oso Abe Olaba Community of Mowe in Ogun State has called on Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba to caution his personnel, particularly the armed mobile police from being used as an instrument of harassment of innocent citizens.
This was part of the resolution at the end of a crucial meeting of over 10 Estates that make up the community.
The meeting became necessary on the heel of invasion of the community by some land grabbers using the armed mobile police to harass the residents of the community with the criminal intention to forcefully take over some of their undeveloped land.
The community in communique signed by all the 10 Chairmen of the estates in the community noted that the regular wrong use of the mobile police personnel in the criminal activities is on the rise.
The community had earlier petitioned the Security Adviser to the Ogun State Governor informing him that Prince Dapo Abiodun’s name was mentioned as the owner of their land.
