Husband, Wife Win 7th Alaghodaro Golf Tourney

Mr. Jude Igbinadolor and his wife, Ehis showed their golfing skills by dominating the 7th Alaghodaro Golf Tournament concluded on Saturday night at Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS), Edo State.

The weeklong tournament which teed-off on Sunday November 5th was part of the activities outlined to mark the 2023 Alaghodaro Summit in Edo State.

The closing ceremony was attended by Governor Godwin Obaseki; Secretary to the state Government, Osarodion Ogie esq.; Chairman, Alaghodaro Summit, Dr. Asue Ighodalo; BCGS Captain, Joseph Idahosa; Lady Captain, Betty Oriakhi, past captains; President of Benin Club, Henry Omoregie esq. past presidents, and many others.

At the end of the well attended golf tournament, the Igbinadolors played an exciting golf to win the hcp 1- 28 men’s and ladies respectively to the admiration of other golfers who teed-off at the event.

Jude (hcp 14) played a net score of 69 to clinch the top prize, a giant refrigerator while Gen. Oscar Iyare (rtd), hcp 11 beat BCGS House Officer, Eghosa Otabor (hcp 16) on count-back to place second having both recorded 71 net.

The BCGS Secretary, Victor Oriasotie esq. who was cynosure of all eyes at the tournament eventually emerged as the best gross award winner with 80 gross.

In the same vein, Ehis (hcp 11) continued her dominance in the ladies category with amazing net score of 71 to win another trophy exactly two weeks after she won the 2023 BCGS Ladies Open.

In the second position was fmr. lady captain, Princess Habiibah Oyeghe Oyarekhua (hcp 18) who beat another fmr. lady captain, Suwadetu Mahmud (hcp 19) on count-back as they played 73 net respectively.

Also, the outgoing LGAN South South Zonal President, Sandra Emina played 89 gross to emerge the best gross winner.

Meanwhile, in his speech, BCGS captain appreciated the governor for given the leverage to be part of the annual Alaghodaro Summit through organisation of golf tournament to crown the event.

He also thanked the sponsors, local organising committee and members of the club as well as the guests for making the tournament a huge success.

Similarly, governor Obaseki who could not hide his feeling admitted that the 2023 edition was well organised by featuring more golfers from outside the state as he hereby identified golf as a game of life.
