The timely intervention of Hon. Ladi Adebutu salvaged what could have resorted to crisis in Aiyegbami community, Iperu as plan to sabotage the installation of 500kva transformer donated by him to the community was averted.

Youths in Ayegbami and indigenes of ward three in Iperu showed their anger towards Mr Salisu Osinowo, the ‘Oloritun’ of Ayegbami who refused to handover the cables of the damaged transformer needed to energize the new transformer donated to the community.

It could be recalled that the former Federal lawmaker, Hon.Adebutu donated a 500kva transformer on Monday to the community which had been in darkness for over five months.

According to Mr. Sulaimon Adeleke aka Olori Oko of Ayegbami, he disclosed that Mr Salisu Osinowo aka ‘Onikokore’ refused to handover the cables to the technicians who were to energize the new transformer for the use of the community.

Mr Adeleke in an interview explained that the community gave the old cables to Mr Osinowo for safekeeping pending the time it will be needed, but to our surprise, Osinowo denied the community the use of cable when he was approached to handover the cables.

He stated further that Osinowo instead told the community that he was instructed by the higher authority not to release the cables and that the community should go back to Hon. Adebutu for another set of cables.

Adeleke also mentioned that the community sort the intervention of the Iyalode of Iperu to persuade Osinowo to cooperate, but he remained adamant.

Adeleke said: “The indigenes of our community led by the youths reported our predicament to Hon. Adebutu who immediately gave us over a million naira for the purchase of a new set of cables to complete the project.”

Also, a leader in the community, Mr. Rotimi Onabade said: “It is unfortunate that an individual will sabotage the effort of making life better for our community.

,”We believe strongly that our communities and Ogun State will be a better place to live in, if we have the right people at the helms of affairs of government with the kind of humanness of Hon. Ladi Adebutu, no matter the efforts of saboteurs.”

Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, efforts to have the comments of Mr. Osinowo proved abortive as his phone numbers were not going through.
