It was a moment of celebration as the Federated Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Edo State Council has congratulated the General Overseer of Spirit and Life Family Bible Church, Bishop Gordon Ada Gordon-Osagiede Jnr on his birthday celebration.
Chairperson of the Chapel, Comrade Mercy Onyenweli led the Executive and other members to residence of the Bishop to rejoice and entertain him with a birthday song.
Comrade Mercy hereby extolled the leadership quality of the celebrant and commended him for being a role model to teeming youths who draw inspiration from his life style.
She said: “Bishop Gordon-Osagiede is towing the path of a true servant of God and therefore deserved to play the role of a father to the Chapel.”
However, she officially announced the decision of the leadership of the Chapel to confer the patronship position on the Bishop thus appealed that whenever he is ready, he should communicate back to the chapel to enable adequate preparation.
She hereby wished the Bishop more promotions and God’s upliftment in his new age.
While responding, Bishop Gordon-Osagiede appreciated members of Federated Chapel for finding him worthy to celebrate his birthday with him. “I am honored with your request because I know Patron’s position is a big responsibility and I hope to do my best. I also thank God for finding me worthy of the position”.
He described journalists as the voice of the voiceless who usually beam their torchlight on matters of public interest. “Being a journalist is a unique one because it is a divine call that requires a selfless individual to be able to carry out the job effectively”.
He therefore sues for partnership between the church and media practitioners to promote the general well-being of humanity and Nigeria at large.
