Dame Comfort Edeki and Dan Sule were accorded standing ovations for emerging champions at the Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS) Ladies Monday Outing held at the club golf course, Benin City, Edo State.
The last Monday golf event of the month proudly bankrolled by Dr, Michael Edokpolor, husband of the immediate past Lady Captain featured a total of twenty two golfers in attendance.
Dame Edeki rise to the stardom was as a result of her determination and resilience as she recorded a net score of 44, thus beat Lady Captain, Prof. Florence Isoken Osagiede (52 net) to second spot.
Similarly, Sule, Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), Hackers Group with net score of 41 won the men’s category ahead of Okakuro Gilbert Aghogho, Captain, Sapele Athletic Club (SAC) Golf Section (42 net) while S. O. Dawodu settled for third place with 43 net.
In the same vein, Mrs. Margaret Osayi net score of 39 was acknowledged best to win the ladies veteran over Prof. Josephine Mokwunyei who played 43 net.
Also, S. S. Akhigbe picked the men’s veteran award at the expense of former Captain, Afam Obanor ‘The Grand Caddy’ whose net score was 43.
Speaking to newsnigeriaonline.com.ng, after the presentation, Lady Captain, Prof. Osagiede thanked the sponsor, Dr. Edokpolor for his show of love, and for always identifying with the ladies division.
