Aruku Emerges Overall Winner At Governor Bassey Otu Inaugural Golf Kitty

Igbe Aruku emerged overall winner at the Governor Bassey Otu Inaugural Golf Kitty held over the weekend at Calabar Golf Club, Army junction, Calabar, Cross River State.

Aruku (hcp 16) played a net score of 72 to win the men’s category thus went home with a winner’s trophy.

In category two, Sam Kalio (hcp 8) played 73 net to emerge victorious as he beat Eja Dons (hcp 12) who had 82 net.

Similarly Anietie Okon (hcp 13) won the category three with 75 net just as Fidel Udie (hcp 14) with 80 net and Enang Ukagu (hcp 17) who recorded 81 net were placed second and third respectively.

The category four produced Raymond Ovat (hcp 26) 72 net as winner. John Etim-Bassey (hcp 20) placed second for recording 73 net, Sam Onah (hcp 23) finished third with 74 net while Jesam Iwara (hcp 23) having 79 net and George Ene-Ita (hcp 25) on 80 net were rated fourth and fifth respectively.

Furthermore, Patrick Iwara (hcp 15) for playing 75 net won the veteran men’s cadre just as second placed Myke Motoni (hcp 26) played 77 net while Paul Ebiala (hcp 14) settled for third spot with 78 net. Adebisi Osim (hcp 36) won the ladies category with 127 net.

In another development, Sam kalio won the longest drive event just as Ofem Oje won the nearest to the pin award.

Newsnigeriaonline.com.ng recalls that the golf kitty packaged by Calabar Golf Club Management attracted golfers from other golf clubs in the south-south zone.

Also, the state governor, Prince Bassey Otu and other dignitaries featured at the event just as hole 1 was named after him.
