Alaghodaro 2023: 120 Golfers For 7th Alaghodaro Golf Tourney Tomorrow


No fewer than 120 golfers are expected to tee-off at the 7th Alaghodaro Golf Tournament holding at Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS), Benin-City, Edo State on Saturday.

Similarly, the official tee-off ceremony of the tournament is to be performed by the host, the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Godwin Obaseki, while the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu; BCGS Captain, Joseph Idahosa and many others will join in the ceremony.

According to the BCGS Competition Secretary, Osazee Iyare in a chat with at the Club house on Friday, he noted that the tournament is part of the activities to mark the 2023 Alaghodaro Summit in the state.

Iyare, top handicap golfer in the club disclosed that the tournament is organised in conjunction with the management of the BCGS to mark the 7th year anniversary of Governor Obaseki administration.

He added that awesome prizes and trophies will be won by those who distinguished themselves at the end of the event.

Furthermore, the competition secretary stressed that the tomorrow’s event is expected to feature hcp 1 – 18 in the men’s category while ladies category will feature hcp 1 – 28 respectively. Also, playing are guests and special guests.

Meanwhile, more than sixty golfers stormed the golf course on Friday in continuation of the weeklong tournament. They were the men’s hcp 19 – 28, ladies hcp 19 – 34, the veteran men’s and veteran ladies as well as the super veterans. gathered that the professional golfers exhibited their skills as they opened the golf course on Sunday while the caddies were not left out of the tournament as they had their playing time on Wednesday just as the Eaglets played on Thursday.
