Leadership of Afenifere For Collective Transformation (ACT) has commended Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State for approving the constitution of Kogi State Youth Development Commission.
The ACT described the commission as another giant step in the right direction that will further put Kogi youths in the forefront of national and global development.
According to a statement jointly signed by Prince Tolu Ajayi, DG, ACT4PYB, and Comrade Salami Taiwo Ramon, Chief Press Secretary to DG made available to newsmen on Wednesday hereby used the medium to celebrate with the state youths on the kind of leader they have as governor.
The statement stated: “There have been series of pioneering initiatives from the governor Bello since he assumed office in the past few years. Many of these initiatives are policies that are people oriented and centered on human development especially as it concerns children, youths, women and people with disabilities.
“It is obvious that governor Bello is not in anyway relenting on being a political pathfinder and a frontliner in this regard as he continue to lead the way for other governors across the country to follow.
“It is obvious that Kogi State youths are the luckiest in Nigeria in term of political and leadership engagement from their governor. While youths across the country are still begging to be relevant in their local governments,
“Kogi youths are already the ones running local government administrations effectively as chairmen and councillors. Kogi youths are leaders in their various local government and the women are not left out as well being saddled with the position of vice chairmen and party leaders across the state.
“Afenifere For Collective Transformation is in many ways envious of the youths in Kogi for having a leader who is constantly putting their welfare first. We hereby use this medium to call on the governor to please help us to address his fellow governors to take the same steps by involving youths in their policies like himself.
“We implore him to facilitate the same for other youths across the country especially for those of us in the south-west as we are seriously in need of such commission too so as to address our welfare.
“It is on this note that we congratulate Kogi youths once again and also appreciate the governor for his all times youth friendly policies and initiatives.”
