Ahead of the March 11th gubernatorial election, Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has solicited the support of the Christian Community in Ota for re-election of Governor Dapo Abiodun for a second term in office.
She made this appeal at a meeting with representatives of different denominations from Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Ota Branch held at Christian Penticostal Mission International (CPM) Animashaun Ota, Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area on Tuesday.
The deputy governor noted that the present administration in the state, led by Prince Dapo Abiodun has really supported Ota town and the entire local government in terms of infrastructural development.
She added that the only way to allow him complete some of the ongoing projects and start new ones was to come out enmass this Saturday and vote All Progressives Congress (APC) in the gubernatorial election and state House of Assembly.
She said: “You are a strong factor in determining the success of this forthcoming election, such as you have in the past. You have a say, let me implore you to use it wisely. Let us vote for continuity of good governance in the state.
“If we all vote for Prince Dapo Abiodun, it will assist in facilitating more developmental projects to Ado-Odo Ota local government.”
While noting that there was need to carefully consider the character of people involved in election, she said Prince Dapo Abiodun and his team are professionally competent, full of integrity and the needed vision to lead the state for another four years
According to her: “Though, no government can satisfy all the needs of the masses, but for the first time in the 16 years of democratic rule in Ogun, the present administration has done a project in every local government, hence the need to support us to be able to complete all ongoing projects and start new ones.”
She also used the opportunity to call on non-indigenes in Ado-Odo Ota to also support APC in order to collectively reap the dividends of democracy.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ogun State Chapter, Bishop Tunde Akin Akinsanya ably represented by the state Secretary, Rev. Dr. Steven Adeyemi, appreciated those in attendance.
He stated that the meeting was called for them to support Governor Dapo Abiodun in the forthcoming elections and to allow for continuity of good works in the state.
While calling on members of the Christian faith not to hesitate to cast their votes for APC, he assured the deputy governor that Christians in Ota are solidly behind the present administration, explaining that this government has really supported the Christian community in all aspects.
