KAAF Age Grade Football Tournament Finals Hold Today

Hostilities will come to an end as finals of the year 2020 Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation (KAAF) Age Grade Football Tournament hold today.

The KAAF U-17 Female and U-18 Male Ogun State Football Competition finals have been slated to kick-off at Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, Ogun State.

The football tournament sponsored by Chief Kensington Adebukunola Adebutu is organised by the Ogun State Football Association as part of efforts to discover talents in the game of soccer across the state.

In today’s finals, Team Ado-Odo Ota Local Government will battle Team Ijebu North LG by 12 noon to determine the winner in the U-17 female category, while Team Ijebu North LG will face its counterpart from Imeko Afon LG in the battle of U-18 Male cadre.

Earlier on, Chairman of the state FA, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi made it known that the delayed in the 2020 finals was nobody’s fault, but that COVID-19 proved to be a stumbling block, and thankfully, football is back and that they were looking forward to their annual football ritual.

“For the 2021 edition, we plan to have the final sometimes in October to commemorate the 86th birthday of Chief Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu.

“We have our plans mapped out already so once we get the go ahead, it will be football all through the year,” he noted.

Alhaji Majekodunmi who is an executive board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) extolled Baba Adebutu who has singlehandedly footed the bills over the years for the age grade tournament and appreciated him for his giant strides towards the development of football in the Gateway State.

He assured that this year 2020 finals for today will be bigger and keenly contested among the teams playing.
