It was a good beginning for Team Ondo at the ongoing 6th National Youth Games at University of Ilorin Sport complex, Kwara State as the state won a total of nine medals on Friday.
The state athletes full of determination won three gold, three silver and three bronze to record the state name on medals table.
The Sunshine State athletes won two gold in the judo event through Odunayo Babalola and Uche Asonye in the 44kg and 36kg category respectively.
In the artistic gymnastics, Team Ondo won silver in the team female event courtesy of Braitwaite Tumininu, Taye Salami and Braitwaite Tolu.
Moreover, in the artistic gymnastics individual category, Tumininu Braitwaite won one gold in the vault event, and one bronze in the floor in exercise event.
Similarly, Tolu Braitwaite recorded a silver in the balance beam event while Lucky Moses was lucky to win a bronze in the aerobics event.
Meanwhile, Tumininu Braitwaite was awarded silver in all round best in gymnastics at this year games.
