60 Secondary Schools For Prince Dapo Abiodun Table Tennis Championship

Table tennis players from 60 secondary schools across the three senatorial zones are anticipated to participate at the Prince Dapo Abiodun Table Tennis Championship for Secondary Schools slated to serve-off from June 9th – 10th, 2021.

The two days championship is being organised by Ogun State Sports Council (OGSSC) led by the Director of Sports, Mrs Folakemi Oluwarotimi Iyabode, and proudly supported by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr Oluwadare Kehinde to commemorate the two years anniversary of Governor Abiodun in office.

This was made known in a statement made available to sports writers in Abeokuta by Bola Giwa, Head of Public Relations and Information, OGSSC, noting that the event will feature boys and girls from 12 – 14 years for cadet and 15 -18 years for junior category respectively.

She stated that the competition was to engage the youths across the state as well as create an avenue to discover new talent at the grassroots level.

Expected to grace the event were Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Tokunbo Talabi; Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Gbenga Dairo; Hon. Afolabi Afuwape,Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and many others.

The grand finale will hold on Thursday, June 10th, 2021 at the badminton hall of Alake Sports Center Ijeja, Abeokuta Ogun State, by 2pm, with all sports’ lovers across the state in attendance.
